Took 3 alternators to get the job done. The first one had a broken stud where the heavy cable is supposed to bolt down. The second one did exactly the same thing my original one did, that is it would fail to charge once it got warmed up. That was hard to convince the staff at the store that it was, in fact, bad. They finally agreed to replace it again and the third one is working fine.

Since it is a new alternator, I have greater confidence that it will give long life service, with few problems. It was priced competitively with used rebuilt, so the little extra cost seems well worth it. The bearings turned smoothly, and the pulley was new and will not cause excess belt wear, which concerned me when thinking about what a used alternator would be like.Only thing, when I first started the engine, charging voltage was good, but there was bad static on the radio...which went away after the alternator had a chance to run for a few minutes.Now, everthing is fine, the mechanicl noise from the old alternator is gone, and
