One of the best, and sometimes missed tuning tricks is not to just optimize your initial timing, but to bring in timing advance more quickly than the stock distributor can allow. Bringing timing more quickly than stock can provide substantial increases in both torque and horsepower depending on your combination.This is done by changing the springs under the cap. This kit includes three sets of springs which can be used in different combinations to provide full advance sooner than stock. Use lighter springs to bring the advance more quickly, and heavier springs to bring it in more slowly. Engineered from the inside out, the 8.5 offers everything you have ever wanted in a wire; incredibly low resistance without electronic interference. In a single 12 inch length of super conductor wire there is only 40 – 50 ohms of resistance. That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire. The MSD flying magnet crank trigger system does exactly that by using magnets embedded in an aluminum wheel. The MSD flying magnet crank trigger uses four magnets secured in the aluminum trigger wheel that pass by a stationary non-magnetic pick-up to trigger the ignition. This flying magnet design produces accurate trigger signals and the non-magnetic pick-up cannot be false triggered.
