Bought as direct replacement for lexus sc400. Installed with timIng belt qnd water pump. Drove for about 5,000 miles then lost all power and engine began to backfire and not burn all gas during combustion stroke. Had to have care towed back home. Discovered my right-bank cam 8 teeth off from proper timing. This was the problem it was too weak. To push piston back down I used floor jack and placed this part into a block of wood for support and pushed against the underside of my car. Did the same with the old oem part i still had lying about and it lifted the car off the jackstands , then I had to climb onto the fender to get it down. I'll just reinstall the old one since advance doesn't stock a decent one in the stores. So in the end I wasted the money for the part, $100 tow, 5 hours to diagnose my code 13, and 12 hours of my time

Put in a new belt (also purchased at Advance) along with this tensioner. Have lots of experience installing these + followed install instructions to the letter. Car ran for 8 months then died. Find out belt loosened and skipped a few teeth due to tensioner failure. Thank goodness my engine is non-interference. Not interested in calling in warranty on this just to receive another which will probably fail on me again.
