Didnt work right out of the box. Opens way too late. My cars temp was steady at the beginning of the red box. This is my second thermostat. First one was the carquest one that is $9 and that one was faulty too. Chose this hoping the slightly higher price would give me a better result, but I guess my luck is just bad.

It did not work and created a lot of trouble for me. I put in a new water pump and I wanted to change the thermostat at the same time. I took my car around the the block a few time to get it up to temp and all seemed fine. The next morning I drove my car to work at all was fine till about 5 miles in and it started to overheat. I turned the heater on full blast and the temp came down from the red line. I was not sure if it was the pump or the stat, so I had to drain the system again to reinstall the old stat and see if that fixed the overheating, which it did. This was a big pain in the and could have caused big engine problems.
