Wow! What a difference. I thought I had an issue with the automatic choke, upon starting my truck, it would just spit and sputter at a low idle and slowly build up to a smooth idle. No more. She starts and idles nice and smooth for warm up. That was a bonus, the reason I changed it was because my S10 would be accelerating but not going any faster. So something was wrong in the timing of the RPM's and the trans. I thought the trans my need rebuilt, but figured buying this part and trying it is a couple grand cheaper. Turned out to be the right call, everything is in sync and shifting well. Old girl has 200,000 plus miles on her I guess its time to start changing out sensors.

Recently I plugged in my OBD-II scanner and looked at the live data. When I put my throttle pedal all the way to the floor, it read roughly 80%. I could tell by this and the sluggish performance that I needed a new TPS. Delphi was the supplier for the GM factories that built most of the 3100/3400 SFI engines, so the ECU was programmed based on this sensor; getting Delphi as opposed to any other brand means your engine/car will respond as the engineers intended. Even if you've modified your engine, as long as you have the same style throttle body, this is still the best sensor to get. Needless to say, after installation, my 2001 Grand Prix SE (3100 SFI) has better throttle response than back when I got it. (It also reads 100% when I put the pedal to the floor.)

I bought 3, yes 3 throttle positioning sensors for my 1995 Buick LeSabre. High revs and check engine light would not go away. OBD 1.5... rare 1 year computer only made it close to impossible to pull codes, so I ended up replacing many components to try and repair. Finally, found a garage to pull codes for $85.00. Yes, TPS at fault and yes, the one on the car was new. Finally wised up and bought the OEM replacement, and the car runs like new with absolutely no issues! The store competition that sold me the inferior product could not sell me the OEM based on their Companies policy to sell me store branded only. Thanks Advance Auto for not only having the right part, but giving me a discount and free shipping to my door via the on- line ordering feature! will return here first for future parts for all my cars.

01 Malibu v6 Fit was fine access to screws was tight, so I had to remove other parts for access. I had starting problem if I played with accelerator it started, later found my diagnosis was close. Thanks to Ron at Advance Hanover he led me to real problem IAC ( fuel and air work together) when I pulled IAC found lots of carbon used carb cleaner and brush to clean port.
