I bought a car and it had a whining noise and I immediately replaced the tensioner since they usually go out after time. Go the ok on off and put this one on and sure enough the noise was gone. Good stuff.

I replaced pulley and after tightening, it would not spin freely. After taking it on and off multiple times trying to figure out the problem I regretfully did not tighten the pulley fully in order to get the vehicle back home from 80 miles away. After researching on the computer, I found that it is not uncommon to eliminate the dust shield when reassembling these aftermarket pulleys. So that's what I did and it seems to work fine now. If they added a note in the box or made the pulley to the proper specs, it would have prevented a lot of frustration and a possible second costly breakdown getting the vehicle home.

This was installed on a Nissan Pathfinder and even though it was the correct part number the stock pulley is wider (more bearing surface). I had to shim the pulley so it was centered on the belt.

Fits correctly as long as you have the 17mm OD 12 mm ID spacer for it. The retaining washer must be installed correctly so that it doesn't hold the outer bearing race from spinning.
