I just installed a new steering box and High pressure and return hose along with this Inline filter the way told in the directions And it just Fell apart I lost all power steering fluid and may have smoked my steering pump. Good thing Is i was close to home so hopefully pumps okay

I attempted to install this filter three times, each time the flimsy circlip popped out and the filter fell apart...if this filter failed while on the highway, I could burn up my PS pump...the filter is basically a screen and a tubular magnet with no bypass if clogging occurs...ultimately, I replaced my PS pump under warranty and returned this filter for a refund...with newer pump, fluid contamination has greatly been reduced.
