I've tried several different fan clutches on my '96 Burb. I use the term "different" loosely because most fan clutches are made by the same company. Go to O'Reilly's, Advance, etc., and you're getting a fan clutch made by the same company, regardless of brand or store. I'd recommend checking out mfr website(s) before buying a fan clutch. The main brand names sold by major parts houses, at least for GM makes, have been "improved" to engage the fan at a lower temperature. Which is EXACTLY what my Burb does NOT need. My temps at the radiator cap and fins would not get above 155-degrees, which destroyed my gas mileage and drove me nuts with the sound of a Cesna under the hood. Unable to get an OE part number from GM (a scam), I finally went with this Delco one and so far so good. The fan is engaged sometimes, but not that often and the temp gauge runs where it's supposed to. My gas mileage is back up. I would AVOID mfrs that "improve" the design of the OE, at least for GM vehicles. If this Delco one develops a problem, I'll jump back on here and note it, but three weeks into it and it's acting just like the OE one. Don't forget to grab an install wrench set from the loaner program at the parts house to hold your water pump still so you can unscrew the fan clutch nut. For my Burb, I use the water pump wrench (to keep the pump from turning) only. The 36 mm wrench in the kit is way bigger than the fan clutch nut. I use a large Crescent wrench to unscrew and tighten the fan clutch nut. Oh, and I'd recommend a ft/lbs torque wrench to make sure you attach your fan to the clutch at recommended torque specs.
