I needed to repair a stripped M10x1.5 hole in an aluminum cylinder head and this was my first time using thread repair coils. The coils are made from stainless steel. The tap was high quality and cut well. The provided tool worked both as a tap handle and for installing the coils to the correct depth. The resulting new threads are smooth and strong and the coil is self-locked in the hole tightly. The instructions were clear, but I advise watching a video on YT as well and practicing on a scrap piece of metal. I did not have a scrap piece so I picked up a cheap cabinet knob made of bronze at a hardware store. I would definitely purchase this kit again if I needed to repair a threaded hole in aluminum.

So far so good. I used them to rethread the front engine mount. Had to modify the tool since it was quite short by trimming off a useless plastic protrusion around the metal shaft of the tool prohibiting from going very deep. Tool also acts as tap handle but it's hard to get into any engine area and be able to turn. But I got them in there and they seem solid so far.
