Worked great in replacement of my failed OEM unit on my 1993 Mustang GT 5spd. This unit had the Ford logo on the inside of the connector and seemed like a high quality part. It was the correct length, used the same OEM colors for the wiring, had the same wire loom, and included the retainer clip. I was suddenly having high idle issues (2000-3000RPM). The car would just not idle down, unless I disconnected the IAC. No codes, just terrible idle. I had just replaced the IAC with a Motorcraft unit in the last 6mos and it passed all tests. I tested my TPS and it was reading 2.2V at idle (should be 0.75-0.99V) and I had not altered it's position. It appeared damp internally so I cleaned it with some MAF cleaner, re-installed it and then it was reading 1.8V so I declared it dead. I picked up this unit, installed it in 5mins, set it to 0.95V, and performed the base idle reset. This fully corrected my not only idle issues, but apparently I had lost a considerable amount of performance and was leaning out to the point of detonation above 4K RPMS prior to the installation of this new TPS. I believe the performance degradation and detonation slowly crept up on me as the TPS was failing until it finally gave up the ghost and went berserk. Now all is well all the way to 5800RPMs.

The poorly made, cheap parts being sold at Advance Auto Parts are getting worse. I bought this particular throttle position sensor and installed it. My truck ran worse than before with more hesitation and stumbling/bucking. I tested the throttle position sensor and it was DEFECTIVE. The manager of store# 9203 located at 3315 Highway 98 S. in Lakeland Florida actually accused me of testing new parts on my truck and that I was guessing at the problem. I told her the sensor tested as being defective. Their parts tend to be low quality. I got a replacement throttle position sensor to replace the one I bought at Advance Auto Parts and now my truck runs fine now that it has a properly operating throttle position sensor. The manager at store# 9203 tends to be very rude and was out of line concerning the return of my defective sensor.
