      The Cardone 22-207, which has removable bushings, actually fits my 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 with performance steering (less than 3 turns). It works best when you take out the bushings and install the inner bushing first, then the rack, get everything aligned then install the outer bushing. That gives you the wiggle room to get the part lined up and mated with the steering assembly. I need to get it aligned, but so far, so good. PS, the 22-203 does not fit my 5.0, the bushings are the wrong size...

      The original inner tie rod has a female end with threads where it attaches to the rack. This CARDONE is a male end with threads where it attaches to the rack. The inner tie rods on the rack are NOT replaceable with quality OE parts because of this difference. As soon as the inner tie rods on this rack wear out, you need a new rack. The inner tie rods are flimsy compared to a high quality OE replacement or the MOOG replacements I bought from advanced hoping to install on this rack. I haven't installed it the rack yet to see if it holds fluid. The CARDONE inner tie rods are shorter than the OE inner tie rods which is also impossible to remedy. Bottom line the tie rods on this rack are NOT replaceable because of a different mounting point. I read "OE" a dozen times on this website before I bought it. Still, it was my mistake for not taking it apart in the store to inspect it.

      Its been a few weeks now. Iv drained the fluid three times. And checked the filter that I included. Works great. Real happy with the way my car turns. Like a Honda Civic. My Foxbody 5.0 has a Momo. Real nice. Especially with the help of the great staff at the Fruitville Rd Sarasota Fl. store. The woman employees are experts ,and very hard workers.

      So, this says it is an "exact fit" for my 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 w/ performance steering (less than 3 turns) but it is incorrect. It has glued in bushings that are the wrong size for the 87 GT. You need to get the Cardone 22-207, which has removable bushings, which actually fits. I had to send it back and order the 22-207, which I installed with ease.

      I purchased this rack and pinion a week ago last Saturday and found it is leaking on left side boot already. I would definitely NOT recommend this product. Failure after one week. This cost me $300 to have installed and perform an aligmment. Now I guess I will have to do this all over again. Extremely frustrated right now.
