For points application the supplied 0.85 ohm ballast resistor must be used in conjunction with the vehicle original ballast resistor, if so equipped. Extra tall tan Alkyd tower and integral voltage dam eliminate “flashover” to primary terminals. Comes complete with mounting hardware and 0.85 ohm ballast resistor. Effective up to 6,500 RPM.

Most crank triggers have a wheel, with steel studs sticking out, bolted to the harmonic balancer. As the crankshaft turns, the studs pass by a stationary magnetic pick-up, triggering the ignition. This pick-up can be triggered by other bolts, debris, or even vibrations which will cause a loss of power or engine damage. The MSD Flying Magnet Crank Trigger uses four magnets secured in the aluminum trigger wheel that pass by a stationary non-magnetic pick-up to trigger the ignition. This “flying magnet” design produces accurate trigger signals and the non-magnetic pick-up cannot be falsely triggered.

The Mallory Promaster Classic series ignition coil is designed to meet today’s specialized ignition requirements. This coil features a faster rise time and increased spark duration (compared to stock) to increase performance. It has a glass-filled polyester case and oil-filled construction to ensure a long life and no energy loss from arcing. This coil also offers excellent wire retention with a spark plug type secondary post, and brass contact terminals.

In a single 12 inch length of Super Conductor Wire there is only 40 – 50 ohms of resistance. That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire. To accomplish this, we use a copper alloy conductor due to it’s great voltage carrying capabilities. The low resistance results in less loss in spark energy so more reaches the spark plug.
