Car had a habitual misfire often without any check engine error being displayed. Occasionally when a check engine error was displayed, it was consistently for cylinder #6. Decided to replace both coils and plugs. Upon inspection, plug #6 had an extremely wide gap (from wear). Since replacement of both coils and plugs I've experienced no misfires and improved overall performance.

Motorcraft coils come with boots pre-lubricated at the tip with silicone grease to help go onto the spark plugs and not get stuck, but not so much it would prevent a good spark. They fit well, install easily, and reviews on several forums say they are the most reliable, worth a little extra. Got the Motorcraft plugs too. Truck is running great now!

First up I own a 93 Mustang 5.0 and this E92 coil mounts perfectly to the bracket that is mounted on the drivers side shock tower. It works as expected, the car starts and runs, but there is one caveat. This coil sent me for a real loop. My MSD coil failed, which as I read now is a very popular thing for that coil to do. I put in this BWD E92 because it was easily available. Anyway, after I put it in I heard a constant buzz/humm from behind my dash. Long story short, the buzz/humm was coming from the coil on the shock tower, travelling up the engine bay inner fender to the firewall and was heard behind my dash. Crazy... As proof I removed the coil from the bracket and the sound went away. Thinking it was a bad coil, I got a second E92, put it back in and the sound came back. In the end I got a Accel Supercoil (it doesn't appear to drop fail nearly as much as the MSD) and after it was hooked up no buzz/humm. So maybe I was "lucky" and something about my car is "special" but I will say I've had this car for 22 year and now have had to replace the coil 3 times (MSD coil lasted only 3 years) and never had a problem like this. So there you go, if I could have got a Motocraft coil on short notice I would have, but I hope the Supercoil lasts me for many years to come.

These haven't been installed for very long, but so far so good. Build quality appears to be on par with Motorcraft. The plug boots and springs were sized properly and the electrical connectors were correct. I replaced all the coils and plugs at the same time. The real test for me is longevity - hopefully they will last as long as the OEM ones. As an individual (not a commercial account) the review reminders should really be sent out a year or more after you purchase. Most parts are fine when they are first installed.
