      This oil pump worked great on my new engine. The backer plate is steel, so it shouldn't flex like the factory pump. Excellent oil pressure.

The relief valve has a pressure adjustable screw in plug instead of a cup plug. The oil pump screen mounting seal is included. Every Melling high performance oil pump is individually tested for pressure and flow under actual engine operating conditions.

      I just put this melling pump on my 5.4 and it never build up pressure . I took it off to find a 3 inch crack on front of housing. It ruined my rebuilt heads and caused me a lot of work. It should have a warning on it because I researched it and melling had design problems but never pull the bad castings off the shelfes.
