Bought a new one and started blowing fuses. Took it back and it had a delay in it causing it to blow fuses. Swapped it out with another one that was new and now it makes a really bad banging noise when trying crank. Never done that until I replaced the started. Was told by a mechanic it could need a swimming kit.

this part seem to be of good quality, I've used Remy parts on several vehicles and they all seem to be doing fine. On the 1992 grand prix you do need to pull the oil filter to remove the starter so just make sure you buy a new filter when you get your starter.

After reading a previous review about a solenoid missing, I checked the box before I left the store and found the starter that I just purchased also did not have a solenoid. The store opened another box and it did contain a complete starter with a solenoid. I would suggest that anyone buying one of these starters to also verify before leaving the store if you wish to save a return visit.

I bought this starter a year ago. Six months later, it kept disengaging, so I replaced it under warranty with a second one. Now, five months later, this one is starting to do the same thing. So unless you enjoy replacing starters and wasting your time, spend a few bucks more for the good one.
