I received a product that did not matched my vehicle even when I entered the actual make model and engine, I openes it at the store and it looks really big but I did not remembered exactly how mines look and I was on a hurry I took it home sure it should match but after opening it at home and a second look it seems to be like some kind of joke... because the part was so big and heavy that no way someone who it is suposesed to be familiar with autoparts like your associates couod mistake that one being for my dodege dakota. I am really dissapointed at least with that particular store in fort myers.

The starter worked as designed, the store having it in stock and at a good price was a real plus. My only complaint would be the large sticker semi-permanently affixed to the solenoid. The LS3 engine is used in a limited number of cars and I am not sure if the starter fits on other engines so I was grateful that I could get my car back on the road the same day.

Exact fit for my 1989 Chevy Suburban 7.4L big block. Gear to flex-plate was within spec, the 2 shims included weren't necessary. The part honestly looks brand new. All new lock washers, nuts, posts, paint, solenoid housing, even the drive gear looks new. If you're doing this install by yourself grab a jack stand and a small piece of 2x4. Use that to hold the starter up, rest part of the starter against the frame, make the electrical connections. Next raise the stand a couple notches, start the bolts, tighten them up, reconnect the battery and start the engine.

Don't buy this if you are using it on a pre-64 Pontiac. These are all block mount starters, they should not be listed as fitting any pre-64 Pontiac since they are bellhousing mount. Ask me how I know, they do not fit my 60 Catalina.

The starter nose casting is too thin and of a poor material. My car was set at factory specifications and the starter was gapped correctly. After about 10 starts I heard a loud pop while starting it. Unbolted the starter and found a quarter inch wide nose casting crack with a narrow crack almost all the way around the back. The only good thing was that I returned it and got my money back. It may be new but my core which was original to the car was better, wish I would have kept the original just in case. The original was so worn that you could hear parts rattling around inside of it but it was stronger and started better than this new Remy.

Tried 2 different starters that were "exact fit" for my vehicle. First one would not line up, returned it and got another one. That one didn't fit either! Finally I had to file down 2 different spots on the solenoid that were hitting the engine block, to finally get it to fit!

This rebuilt starter was inexpensive. I spent $120 in tow charges, $300 to get the alarm disconnected because I thought the Keyed alarm was the problem. After the 4th time I realized the New Rebuilt starter was faulty and had weak brush springs. It would start after tapping the starter with a hammer. Poor product from Duralast.
