The importance of pressure plate bolts in a racing or Hi-Performance street application cannot be emphasized nearly enough. These fasteners play a key role in both the performance and safety of a vehicle. Because of this, ARP has developed special pressure plate bolts that are application specific to ensure the optimum grip length. ARP offers High Performance Series bolts that are made from a premium grade chrome moly and hardened to a nominal tensile strength of 180,000 PSI. The Pro Series bolts, originally developed for NASCAR competition, are stronger and rated at 200,000 PSI. Both models feature a large diameter, low profile design. Complete with washers.

ARP offers two styles of Flywheel bolts: premium grade Pro Series, with a 200,000 psi rating and High Performance, with a 180,000 psi rating. They are both heat-treated prior to thread rolling and machining, feature an exclusive, flat, 12-point head design and larger than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheel register. Kits include washers and nuts where applicable.

Most flex plates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter And teeth for the starter. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion And contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks And/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious (expensive) damage. Broken flex plates can not be repaired, they must be replaced. ATP flex plates are made of high quality steel And contain the correct bolt hole spacing And ring gear teeth just like the original part to ensure long life And durability

As performance levels increase, an O.E. style flexplate just won’t cut it and a stronger option is a necessity to prevent transmission and/or converter failure. B&M has you covered with our high performance flexplate designed for 1986 to 1994 GM (externally balanced) 4.3L V6 and GM small block V8 engines with one piece rear main seal. Features include high tensile strength steel construction to resist elongation and cracking, dual bolt pattern 10.75 or 11.5 inch converter mounting locations, 168 tooth ring gear with double-sided welds for added strength and comes with SFI 29.1 safety certification insuring the ultimate in safety and performance. The assembly is then Zinc plated and treated with a Chromate Conversion Coating for added corrosion resistance and durability. Precision balanced to either neutral (internal) or Detroit (external) specifications. Meets SFI specification 1.1 for racing.
