Window regulators are a problem in E90 BMWs. I had one fail on me with the window fully down. It's winter so I had to make the replacement fast. AAP had it in stock and I picked it up the same day that I ordered it. This regulator costs about 40% of what the BMW part costs and appears to be better built to my eye. Was an easy install and it works great. Took about an hour. Estimate at the local BMW specialist was $400 to get it done. Very happy that I bough this regulator and did the job myself.

The regulator went right in an functionality is same as the original piece. Given that it is 25% of the cost of the genuine BMW part, it seems completely the best way to go. Also, it's a back passenger window. It rarely gets used. It's job is basically holding the window shut. If it was the driver's window I might consider the OEM part as it gets used daily.
