    Arrived via UPS free shipping as this was a warehouse order, 3-4 day delivery. The wait was worth it. I would have considered what was available in the store that even came with a life time warranty, however due to the complicated removal and reinstall of the starter I decided to buy the Bosch which comes with 24 months of road side assistance on top of the warranty so obviously they stand behind their product. Once reinstalled It was a relief to hear the smooth nonintrusive sound of that once noisy starter which was the original one. Original lasted 132k mi. NOTE: - not a biggie, my new starter did not come with the external wire harness attachments, but took 2 minutes to remove them from old starter and install on new one. Do only one at a time, or your new starter will come completely apart!! - The Honda shop manual is useless for removing the starter (I have it) These are the procedures I used, STEP ONE: Disconnect neg battery connection STEP TWO: remove exhaust down pipe, undo rubber exhaust hangar on the now hanging exhaust pipe near muffler, zip tie hanging exhaust to frame under driver side of car (plenty of spots to tie off) STEP THREE: lift front of vehicle, remove passenger front wheel, remove two upper bolts that hold spindle to strut, IMMEDIATELY double zip tie spindle back to strut with enough play to pop CV shaft with pry bar out from transmission but keep tension off ABS cord/wire on spindle...this process takes 5 minutes from taking off wheel to popping out axle its worth your time to do this. A very small amount of trans oil will drip after you pop out axle. STEP FOUR: remove small metal bracket connecting lower intake manifold to block(3 bolts) it will prevent the starter from pulling away from engine. The top bolt on the starter is tough, but fairly easy to overcome with a ratcheting 14mm wrench and may need shop light reinstall in reverse order, if you follow these steps expect 1-2 hours total This project was done in driveway on jack stands, no air tools were used

    Got this starter to replace the original starter in my 2006 E90 325i. The original starter is a Bosch (with a BMW logo) so this Bosch starter is an exact replacement fit, all numbers match the original. Has a two year warranty from Bosch but I don't expect any problems with it...it's a reman, but turns the engine over with a real purpose! I'm impressed so far. Remember to replace the starter mounting bolts (aluminum) and the intake gaskets when you have everything apart to install the starter.
