Improper installation of the camshaft sprockets or phasers can damage or push the locating pin back into the camshaft during installation. As a result Melling has released the CSIT-LS installation tool which is designed to aid in the installation of both the camshaft and the camshaft sprocket or phaser. The CSIT-LS can be used with both single bolt and 3-bolt cams. The CSIT-LS installation tool is made from alloyed tool steel and heat treated for durability.
