The EGR system is an emission control device designed to recirculate exhaust gas into the engines air intake system and back to the combustion chamber to control nitrogen oxides or NOx. The chemical NOx is created when oxygen and nitrogen are heated above 2,800-degree F. Exhaust gas, or gas that is displaced from the combustion chamber, contains little to no oxygen molecules. By recirculating this gas back into the combustion chamber fewer oxygen molecules are available for the combustion event which will therefore create a cooler combustion event. The EGR valve can be actuated by engine vacuum or electronically by the engine control module.

The Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI Kit No. 35650 for 1970-1991 AMC 304, 360, 390, 401 CID engines is a fully sequential multi-port injection system designed with a fuel injector strategically positioned in each runner of the intake manifold to deliver the best fuel atomization and most even distribution to each cylinder. This system features the high-performance Victor Jr.-style single-plane intake manifold that comes preassembled with high-flow injectors, fuel rails and 4150-flange throttle body. All supporting sensors are included along with distributor, wire harnesses and ECU. The Victor manifold is designed with a larger cross-sectional area in the plenum and larger runners for high-horsepower and/or large cubic-inch applications. This kit uses 35 lb/hr injectors and is rated for 550 horsepower at 58 PSI of fuel pressure. Calibration of the Pro-Flo 4 is a simple process with a Setup Wizard providing guidance through the E-Tuner’s initial programming. Once provided with basic information such as type of engine, cubic inches, firing order, and cam profile, the E-Tuner then selects the most appropriate base calibration. Once the base calibration is set, the self-learning E-Tuner takes over to continually maximize the fuel map for your specific engine configuration, even compensating for changes in altitude and weather.
