When the key is inserted into the ignition and turned, the transponder is energized and broadcasts its unique code to the car’s receiver in the dashboard. This item is a brand new, uncut transponder key that is compatible with 2004-2006 Acura TL and 2004-2008 Acura TSX models. A transponder key blade adds an extra level of security over a traditional car key. It has a small transponder chip embedded in the key. Once it’s inserted into the ignition, a unique signal goes to the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) to activate the engine. This helps deter fraudulent key tampering and theft. If the ECU doesn’t recognize the unique code of the transponder, the immobilizer will activate and the engine will not turn on. This is a high-security key blade, which protects against fraudulent ignition tampering. The key will require a specialized laser cutting machine for origination and programming.
