An essential component in the diesel electronic control system, this sensor provides the vehicle powertrain control module (PCM) with crankshaft position and engine speed. The PCM uses this to calculate accurate fuel injection timing. Failure of this component can result in a check engine light, engine misfire, no-start condition and poor drivability.

Modern vehicles may have 100 or more electrical harness connectors in every operating system of the vehicle.
