I was having low fuel pressure problems and tried changing this FPR, before I moved on to the fuel pump (which was the real culprit). Two months ago I noticed some "fluid" dripping under my transmission and thought I had a gasket leak there. A month later I could smell gasoline in the cab while driving, and in my garage afer a parked inside. Fuel pressure dropped further, warning light, stuttereing, stench, and upon inspection I observed fuel almost spraying out of the FPR and then dripping down to the ground. It started as a slow leak (leading me to think tranny seal was bad) and graduated to a gusher of fuel. This was very dificult part to install on a F150 4.2V6 and I lamented ever swapping out my perfectly good original for this JUNK! It lasted only 7 months and I just replaced it with a motocraft part that I got from the local dealer for $48. This brand just didn't work. My truck is a part time vehicle and this aftermarket FPR lasted only 7 months/2000 miles. In fact, I beleive now that it slow leaked from day one, and then just blew out completely last week. My advice is don't change your FPR unless you know its not the fuel pump, and then don't use this brand! Go get the OEM for a few bucks more!

At least not mine. The upper O ring on this part is smaller than the original part and it pours gas out. I tried to re-use the old O ring but the regulator itself is smaller and it still would not seal.
