I've used the Royal Purple 20W-50 for the last couple of oil changes on my ZRX. I'll go about 5000 miles between oil changes with this oil. No clutch or other issues using this opil. seems to be great stuff. I just wish it didn't cost so much

If you have a water/liquid cooled motorcycle, or ATV this oil may be a good choice. Do not use in aircooled engines where the possibility of overheating could happen. I recently had to completely rebuild a 127 c.I. Ultima Engine because this oil completely broke down due to overheating in a traffic jam. When I questioned Royal Purple about this, they stated that Synthetic Lubricants absorb and disperse heat, but must be cooled by an internal source within the engine. My engine, although having an oversized oil cooler, was only effective while the motorcycle was in motion. The overheating reduced the Royal Purple to the consistency of water with an equally ineffective lubricating capabilty. Over 1 quart actually came through the crankcase breather. Total cost of tow, rebuild, and repairs was $4536.98.

I have always trusted Royal Puple in all my cars and wondered if it would work in my wet clutch type bike. It does work and I have no problems. In fact the Bike is faster and runs cooler now and although the tappets need adjusting I really cannot hear them thanks to Royal Purple.
