Vehicles with automatic transmissions have a flex plate. The flex plates connect the engine and transmission. Most flex plates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion and contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks and/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious and expensive damage. Broken flex plates cannot be repaired, they must be replaced. B&M has you covered with our high performance flexplate designed for 1955 to 1985 small block Chevy V8 engines (internally balanced) with two piece rear main seal. Features include high tensile strength steel construction to resist elongation and cracking, 10.75 inch bolt pattern, 153 tooth ring gear with double-sided welds for added strength and comes with SFI 29.1 safety certification insuring the ultimate in safety and performance. The assembly is then Zinc plated and treated with a Chromate Conversion Coating for added corrosion resistance and durability. B&M SFI approved flexplates are ideal for extreme duty race applications as well as street cars, tow vehicles or other vehicles needing the added protection and toughness that B&M has been delivering since 1953. Compatible with Powerglide, TH350, TH400 and TH700R4 automatic transmissions.

The Hays 10-130 is a flywheel designed for use with an internally balanced Chevy V8. This is a 168 tooth flywheel that weighs 30lbs. Fits all 1955-1985 Chevy V8s except 400 and 454 engines. Hays steel flywheels are manufactured from certified billet material that will not break under the stress of high RPM and severe punishment of racing. This flywheel is drilled for Diaphragm, Long style, Borg & Beck and Mark XII style clutches.
