Delphi ball joints adhere to global OE technical requirements and undergo testing focused on strength and durability performance, safety critical tests for a safer driving experience. The ball joint push out test measures the force required to push out / remove the ball-pin from the housing. It is an important safety check to help ensure the part can withstand forces applied to the vehicle suspension system in real road conditions. The ball joint pull out test measures the force required to pull the ball-pin out from the housing. If the force required to remove the ball-pin is below the OE spec, there is a risk the joint could fail during normal driving conditions causing the vehicle to lose directional control. Additionally, Delphi’s new dust cover design features an improved Chloroprene Rubber (CR) formula that helps maintain its durability even in extreme temperatures, helping to protect the internal components and support the continued free movement of the ball joint.
