One of the best, and sometimes missed tuning tricks is not to just optimize your initial timing, but to bring in timing advance more quickly than the stock distributor can allow. Bringing timing more quickly than stock can provide substantial increases in both torque and horsepower depending on your combination.This is done by changing the springs under the cap. This kit includes three sets of springs which can be used in different combinations to provide full advance sooner than stock. Use lighter springs to bring the advance more quickly, and heavier springs to bring it in more slowly. Two new weights with nylon bushings are also included as are instructions to help with installation. Springs are color code as follows: Light Springs – Black Medium Springs – Silver Heavy Springs – Gold

This is our most popular performance distributor! The housing is machined from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminum on a state-of-the-art CNC machine producing exact tolerances. For high RPM stability, a .500 In. steel shaft is supported by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and resistance to corrosion. A precision machined reluctor is attached to the shaft which triggers the magnetic pick-up mounted in the housing. This high output magnetic pick-up is the most accurate way to trigger your ignition. GM late-model performance enthusiasts will be happy to see this Pro-Billet distributor. The distributor, PN 8366, is a drop-in. Replacement for GM V8s using the small cap distributor with a dual connector coil found in cars from 1987-1993 and trucks from 1987 to 1995. The entire housing is CNC-machined to exact tolerances for incredible strength (Not to mention cool looks). For improved lubrication there is an extra oil tract machined into the bottom of the housing that delivers oil directly to the cam and distributor gears. Inside, a polished steel shaft receives guidance from a sealed ball bearing and an extra-long sintered bushing adds stability. This 0.500 In. shaft also receives a QPQ coating for increased friction reduction and corrosion resistance.
