Comments about OTC Pitman Arm/Tie Rod End Puller:

This tool is ONE of SEVERAL different kinds of ball joint separators. There are (4) main types of BJ separators: Wedge /Pickle fork (NEVER use this), general gear-pullers (ok), Pitman Arms (multiple sizes available, preferred), and a lever-type OEM-style (even more preferred).

Of the Pitman arm family, this one is the second SMALLEST. It is for SMALL ball joints like Honda's or compact cars might have. Alternatively, there are at least (2) larger mainstream sizes--a lever-type (OEM) and the larger pitman arm-type. In response to the two previous bad reviews: Use the correct tool for the application.

Remember to grease the threads AND grease the grabbing arms to prevent ball joint boot damage.

This is the correct tool for Honda Civics, Acura Integras, and other small-framed cars or cars with small ball joints.

It's also usually available as a loaner tool. You may be able to rent multiple sizes if you're not sure which you need. Inquire at a local AAP store.

Comments about OTC Pitman Arm/Tie Rod End Puller:

there isn't enough length on this puller to use it on an 01 Town & country tie rod end. The bolt on the tie rod is too long for it to fit. I tried every which way imaginable and some ways that made me roll my eyes that I was going to try!
