The reversible ratcheting combination wrenches from GEARWRENCH are a staple for every tool box. The flush-mounted reversing lever allows the user to switch motion left to right without needing to remove the wrench from the fastener increasing productivity. The 15deg. offset on the ratcheting box end allows for greater knuckle clearance and safer access to the fasteners. The ratcheting box end is designed to need as little as 5deg. to move fasteners versus 30deg. for standard wrenches and features off-corner loading for a better grip on the fastener and reduces fastener rounding. The wrenches are made from strong alloy steel with a bright, full polish chrome finish.

Nice but 18mm wrench would be better.
An 18mm wrench would have been better than a 19mm wrench. A 19mm and 3/4" wrench are only .002" different in size meaning that if you already have the SAE set of these wrenches you could have used your 3/4" wrench for all of your 19mm needs. [...] sells the capstop version of these that has the 18mm wrench instead of the 19mm, but sometimes the capstop can be a hinderance so I bought these too. Anyway, I've got four sets of these wrenches. Two sets with the capstops from [...] and two sets without from Advance Auto. I probably won't ever buy the 18mm wrench other than the 18mm capstop version and a regular 18mm combination wrench both of which I've already got. Sorry Danaher, your clever packaging won't get me to spend anymore on these things unless absolutely necessary. :-)

Work great - for a while
Worked fine for a year. Then recently the 17mm broke and fell apart. Thinking it was a fluke, I bought a replacement wrench. A week later the 12mm broke the same way. I dont use these that often. Just a guy repairing a fleet of 4 cars. Going to buy a different manufacturer's model. Great concept, poor execution.

These sets go on sale for $30 on a regular basis. For $30 these things cant be beat. Im a big fan of Gearwrench and most of my tool box consists of Gearwrench stuff. However, understand that these wrenchs are only to be used for their ratcheting sides. The open end is a massive lobster claw and if you use it to try to loosen a fastener, you are asking for a rounded bolt.

I purchased this type of ratcheting wrench because of the offset angle like a normal combination wrench, I hate the flat ones because in order to grip the wrench you increase the possibility of the wrench slipping off and busting your knuckles. Gear Wrench is comparable to the quality and price of Craftsman. These are a win win!!!
