Purchased OE Delco serp belt, Idler, & Tensioner elsewhere. Decided to purchase the reman alternator locally just in case there were issues. Alternator was no good right out of the box. After install, headlights and instrument panel lights immediately began to pulsate or flicker. Cleaned all the grounds (motor, frame, underhood harnesses, accessory negative cable, negative batt cable, etc). Had battery tested 2X. Did not solve flickering problem. Finally returned it for a warranty replacement. Pulsating problem went away immediately when replacement alternator was installed. Better testing of these rebuilt units is needed - the regulator was defective in the "rebuilt" unit shipped out, causing the customer to do the job twice.

Ordered online picked up in store. Old alternator was draining battery and it was suspected it had a short in diodes. So far after 2 weeks battery holding charge and new/rebuilt altenant or is working well. Price was reasonable pick up was easy and return too.

I was apprehensive to buy this part, but the price was the main driver in my decision. It worked as presumed it would. Was installed in a 2000 Silverado 5.3L V-8. Only lasted 2 yrs. The original lasted 13 yrs 4 months.

The voltage regulator failed on this remanufactured alternator. Going to buy OEM original from AC Delco; which are made in Mexico and are half the price.

If you are running more accessories and require more amperage a higher amp can be used because the battery will only draw as many amps as it needs to function properly.
