I never write reviews but after using this product and saving over $500 dollars the least I can do is tell others how well it work. I strip the bolt and hole that holds the caliper. I new I was going to have to pay a lot of money to get it repaired. At this point buying this product wasn't going to make things worse then what it was. After using it I was SHOCKED how well it worked. I would of payed over $500 dollars to get this repaired. Product was $15 payed for it online and used the promo code trt30 and got 30% off which brought the price down to $10. I would recommend this product to EVERYBODY.

Comments about Dorman - Help Brake Caliper Bolts:

While the brakes on a 2003 Ford Focus wit 270K miles found that one caliper bolts hole in each steering knuckle were stripped out. Initially, seemed like a disaster. First thought was to use a helicoil insert to repair the knuckles. After purchasing the kit, just happened to read about these Dorman parts in an online Focus forum. They worked great and saved a bunch of time.

The torque for the caliper guide bolt is 21ft-lbs, (not 94)... Many of us have made this mistake. Dorman came up with a great fix. For a Ford focus 2003 ZTW, part number 13894, a 10x1.25 tap worked perfectly. (I tapped the hole first because I didn't want to strip out the repair bolt). A 6mm Allen head was needed, not the 7mm original. Torqued down properly, I'm a happy guy.

Went to change pads and rotors on my 98 dakota sport I had bought a few months ago to find the bolt holes both stripped. This thing saved me from a ton of extra work and $$. You arent supposed to use both bolts but I had no choice, other than a tear down to the knuckle and trying to find one and pull from a junkyard. TOTAL LIFE SAVER!

It's not an allen wrench. It's a size 45 torx that fits the caliper bolts.

It is Not necessarily a T-45 Torx Bit, as for Different Models of Dakota's only off by 1 Year have different sized bolts, and on mine whoever fixed it before me had 4 different Caliper Bolts. 7mm Allen Wrench is what fits the aftermarket replacement bolts I bought (very close to the T-45) however the 2 bolts on the other side were a smaller sized allen wrench But defintely NOT Torx T-45 on the 1998 4x4 Dodge Dakota (3.9L V6)~ It fits but would strip out the similar sized Allen Key Holes.

If the bolt is not getting tight, then they may be the possibility that the threads are stripped out and need to be tapped and re-threaded.
