On my vehicle, it was a pretty straightforward operation, I replaced the rotors as well as the pads, as every time I used to take my car or truck in, they always said they could not be cut. The existing rotors were in good shape, so I will keep them as spares for the next time I do it. Everything was a proper fit and complete. My only complaint was that one of the new clips broke when I tried to install it. I had to reuse the old one, but no detrimental noises or brake problems have occurred. I followed the prescribed brake pad break in instructions, and you can feel the improvement as they get settled into place. Overall I am satisfied with the product and saved myself considerable money, as compared to the quotes for doing the pads and cutting the rotors from a few places.

Comments about Carquest Wearever Platinum Professional Ceramic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

I bought these because they had new hardware included. Hardware was made wrong and back pad was machined wrong. Still worked but was alittle loose in the slot. These are the 3rd set I've bought but for different cars that the hardware was made wrong. Save your money and buy genuine OEM.

      Cons

      • No Receipt No Warranty
      • Worn Down After 1 Year

      Best Uses

Comments about Carquest Wearever Platinum Professional Ceramic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

Mostly highway mileage with very little city driving and still the brakes are at the chirping point. Fortunately, I kept my receipt so I can replace. Unfortunately, the Carquest Brake Rotors that were purchased and installed at the same time have multiple ridges forming and they are not covered even with the 2 year limited warranty. Stay away from these brakes and rotors.

Hi Rm, happy to assist you! Ceramic brake pads has longer lifespan than organic or semi-metallic. Ceramic pad manufacturers claim that because ceramic pads last longer, they actually cost less money in the long run.

            A:

Hello Greg, happy to help you with your question. When you open your hood, on the firewall on the driver side the master cylinder will be attached to the booster. A hydro boost unit will have various connectors attached to it. A vacuum boost unit will be a round unit with just a vacuum hose attached to it.

4WD can make a difference. Also are you replacing the front or rear? Make sure in the description that it says the correct location of the pads. Some cars/trucks have pads in the front and shoes for the rear, while others have pads all the way around.
