When I bought this item I was after the high DC current (10A) function. It performed as I hoped. I put it in series with the battery to troubleshoot the current. My race car has no alternator and I have been having trouble with the battery discharging faster than expected. I was able to test different components by disconnecting them one at a time. During the testing, I had a few sparks and the meter was overloaded. However, the meter survived the problems so it appears to be very rugged. I also tested several other batteries such as those used in a flashlight or calculator. In all cases, the meter worked well. I bought a second meter.

It would help it the PCB terminals were captivated into the plastic to protect them from rotational force and push-pull force.

There is only two screws holding the top/bottom together which means you need to pry open the top or slide it back to open for battery installation.

The top lip is razor sharp which cuts fingers. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN CHANGE OUT THE BATTERY. Be very cautious when you install the battery to prevent your thumb or finger from getting a 1/8 slice in it.

If You are going to check Voltage or Ohm a sensor out then this will help in Troubleshooting your starting problems. This however will not just plug in and tell you the problem. You need to know how to use an electrical meter and, know how to troubleshoot yourself
