It wasn't exactly to spec as the one it replaced...but we made it work. It blows well, but is noisier than the OEM one. It even has a whistling sound at the highest speed that is a bit disturbing. One more thing to note is that one of its connections didn't pop on as tightly/well as the original b/c it didn't have a little lip on it making it snug enough. But we think it's gonna hold. Well, at least the motor runs and blows well. It'd be great if they could make it more exactly like the one it replaced.

*I istalled this unit in an old dune buggy that I have had for over 40 years. Installation was quick and easy and function was excellent. At the price I don't think you can beat it.

I own a vintage air-cooled VW. I usually shop the many aftermarket/hobbiest suppliers for my parts. One would think that a clutch would be readily available but my supplier of 1st choice was out of stock! A couple of others had the parts but pricing in my opinion was a bit high. I decided to check out Advanced website and do a search for my 1967 Karmann Ghia thinking there would be no way they would have it. Wrong!! The cluth set that Advanced supplies is the first I have found as the complete package, T.O. Bearing, pressure plate, clutch disc and to my surprise, a centering tool! All at a very good price. I cannot comment on durability because as of this writing I have less than 50 miles on the clutch but the operation is smooth. Quality appears good although it is manufactured in China.

This was the ONLY clutch kit offered for a '72 Volkswagen Transporter with a 1.6L in the Advance Auto parts system. It is NOT the correct clutch!! The correct clutch kits disk is about 3/4" larger than the one here. We ended up going to a Volkswagen specialty shop to find out that Volkswagen used a bigger clutch in Transporter and ONLY the Transporter for 2 year. And this was one of those.
