Dorman – Dorman Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (OE Fix), 904-002 (Part No.904-002)

Dorman Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler (OE Fix), 904-002

from

$379.99
When the original equipment exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler fails or leaks on certain Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs and Ram 1500 trucks equipped with an EcoDiesel 3.0 engine, it’s typically due to internal soot buildup, or O-rings that were crushed during installation of a prior cooler replacement. The soot accumulation is the result of exhaust gases flowing too quickly over the fins in the factory design, which doesn’t allow sufficient time for the hot gases to fully cool. This Dorman OE FIX EGR cooler addresses those potential failure points to offer a more permanent repair than the dealership. Our improved design moves exhaust gases through tubes and a helical restrictor that slows the gases down, keeping the cooler from clogging with soot. Like the factory cooler, ours is made of rugged, heat-resistant stainless steel and features the same revised gland design that later versions of the OE cooler used to better protect the O-rings during installation. This innovative repair solution is also cost-effective because although the dealership requires the purchase of the entire costly EGR cooler assembly, our OE FIX cooler reuses the factory valve and actuator.
