Hays heavy-duty flexplates for high performance and competition engines are constructed of a thicker than stock steel plate, enabling them to withstand the stress of high-stall torque converters and today’s high-RPM engines. While factory stock plates tend to crack around the crankshaft hub when punished under high torque and RPM conditions, the thicker Hays Flexplate handles the force. These H.D. flexplates fit 904, 999, and 727 Torqueflite transmissions. All Hays heavy-duty flexplates are zinc-dichromate plated to resist corrosion and are SFI certified under specification 29.1.

Vehicles with automatic transmissions have a flex plate. Flex plates connect the engine and transmission. Most flex plates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion and contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks and/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious (expensive) damage. Broken flex plates can not be repaired, they must be replaced. ATP flex plates are made of high quality steel and contain the correct bolt hole spacing and ring gear teeth just like the original part to ensure long life and durability

ATP Flywheel Shims install easily restoring machined manual transmission flywheels back to the proper height. On automatic transmissions the shim takes up excessive clearance caused by engine crankshaft endplay or by installing a rebuilt torque converter or rebuilt front pump.
