Mr. Gasket High Performance Thermostats are designed to resist large variations of coolant pressure at high RPM (revolutions per minute). This allows them to fully open at correct temperature consistently regardless of engine RPM. The design also provides the high flow that engines operated a higher RPM need. This thermostat also features a copper/brass construction to further resist corrosion. Installs using stock timing cover bolts. Chrome plated steel is a much better compliment to a chromed timing cover. Has markings for 16 degrees before top dead center (BTDC) to 8 degrees after top dead center (ATDC).

The special self locking oil pan bolts, use a smaller-than-standard hex head is ideal for tight spaces. Because of the hex flange head design, it will not fall back into the socket wrench, allowing for easier installation. Special under head serrations prevent loosening and the wide flange head distributes uniform clamping pressure for an ultra gasket seal. Bolts are zinc plated, grade 5.

The Chevrolet HEI distributor is a favorite for muscle cars, street rods and even circle track racers. The integrated coil keeps under mount wiring clean, and for race cars, the idea of running one wire to the distributor keeps things simple. However, when it comes to performance, the stock HEI falls short. MSD answers the need for a strong, accurate and high performance HEI with our Pro-Billet HEI. The distributor is supplied with our digital HEI module and coil so there is plenty of spark energy combined with improved dwell and timing control. Tig welded on top of the distributor shaft is MSD’s adjustable centrifugal advance assembly. Three sets of springs and four stop bushings let you dial in up to 24 different timing curves to match your driving needs. Plus, there’s a vacuum advance for those concerned with economy. Roller cam lobes are ground flat rather than tapered like a flat tappet cam; it is necessary to provide some means of holding the cam back to the rear of the engine. The thrust button rides between the front of the timing gear and the back of the front cover and can be shimmed for proper end play of the cam.
