Flywheel and flex plate bolts play an important role in the performance and safety of race cars and street machines alike. That is why the fastener experts at ARP have developed special bolts that are far superior to OEM hardware. ARP offers two styles of flywheel/flex plate bolts: High Performance and Pro Series. They are both forged from aerospace alloy and heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Both feature an exclusive, flat, 12 point head design and larger than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheel register. The popular High Performance series is rated at 180,000 PSI, and the premium grade Pro Series, originally developed for NASCAR competition, has a 200,000 PSI rating.

As performance levels increase, an O.E. style flexplate just won’t cut it and a stronger option is a necessity to prevent transmission and/or converter failure. B&M has you covered with our high performance flexplate designed for 1986 to 1994 GM (externally balanced) 4.3L V6 and GM small block V8 engines with one piece rear main seal. Features include high tensile strength steel construction to resist elongation and cracking, dual bolt pattern 10.75 or 11.5 inch converter mounting locations, 168 tooth ring gear with double-sided welds for added strength and comes with SFI 29.1 safety certification insuring the ultimate in safety and performance. The assembly is then Zinc plated and treated with a Chromate Conversion Coating for added corrosion resistance and durability. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion And contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks And/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious (expensive) damage. Broken flex plates can not be repaired, they must be replaced. ATP flex plates are made of high quality steel And contain the correct bolt hole spacing And ring gear teeth just like the original part to ensure long life And durability
