Replaced 2003 Toyota 4Runner OEM sensor because VSC & Engine Light came on. The error code P0031 displayed on the code reader. After installing the new oxygen sensor, the VSC & Engine Light turned off automatically. You may NOT have to recalibrate the "zero Point" settings, so be aware/save you some time. NOTE: After installing the new sensor, the heat from the exhaust will burn the anti-seize compound causing it to smoke and smell a little. It's normal and will go away. 🙂

Direct fit for a Lexus GX470. Got a shop to read my Check Engine Light Code for free. It pointed to P0031 which was Bank 1 Sensor 1 or Top Left Pre Catalytic converter. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is post cat. Bank 2 Sensor 1 is top right side pre cat and Bank 2 sensor 2 is right post cat or bottom. Find which one it is, unplug the old old, unscrew it, screw in this new one, plug it in. Job Done. That easy. Spend the extra few bucks for the direct fit, that comes with plug. Universal fit isn't worth it, you save a few dollars to crimp the sensor on the old plug. Could be the plug bad too just get the whole unit in one shot.

For Scion/Toyota splice the sensor's two black wires to the two white Scion plug wires. It doesn't matter which of the two are connected since polarity is not an issue for the heat element. With two wires left to splice we have a 50% chance for success. lol The sensor ground wire is white and Scion/toyota use color gray for grounds. connect white to gray leaving the sensor sending wire blue to be connected to the Scion/Toyota black wire from the plug. The result should be no check engine light and a better running fuel mixture. Thanks and good luck
