Easy install. Had to find correct low/high beam leads first but worked for intended.

The low/high beam bulb socket of my Dodge Stratus 2000 for any reason got burned creating a ground problem, so I needed a replacement. I saw this item online and thought it was a weak item because I found it so cheap, but I decided to gave it a chance. For my surprise it is made with a very good material, fit perfect, almost like OEM and very easy to install. All three cables are the same color (black) so you need to be careful following the position of the ones you are taking off. The cables are enough long to move the socket around once you replaced it and made the connection. If I need one more, I would buy the same again.

Parts work. However, when I drove my 2003 Mazda MPV home from my mechanic--which was at night--I noticed my low-beams seemed to be brighter and when I clicked to high-beams I did not notice much difference. When I got home and pulled up to my garage door and saw the reflection of my headlights it seemed one headlight was on low-beam and one was on high-beam. I had my wife get in the van and flip the switch and, sure enough, the headlight that had the socket replaced the high-beam was on when it was on the low-beam setting and the low-beam was on the high-beam setting. I took the van to my mechanic the next morning who fixed it right away. He had to wire it opposite the way the color coding indicated. Works find now.

Worked fine. Would've been nice if the package included some of the weather proof wire connectors they recommend using, but overall, I'm satisfied. Also, wish it was sold by single unit rather than only as a pair.

Used this to replace a socket someone had broken on my Mitsubishi Lancer. First one lasted 2 months, so I replaced it again with the 2nd from the pack. 1 month later I'm replacing it again. Just a note: The Low-Temp 85811 design has changed and now the same contacts as the High-Temp. After visiting several local stores I was lucky enough to fine one with the older spring design. So far so good.

We purchased this socket for it's "high temp" rating. It melted in less than 2 months of use. At least the OE plug lasted 2 years.

2nd time fix, original fix was with the low-temp socket and that failed. High-Temp socket was the right part for the job. No complaints so far.
