Literally failed while bleeding brakes....went from hard pedal to no pedal. I bench bled it again to make sure I wasn't crazy and checked for a ruptured line and, nope, master cylinder failed out of the box. Should be ashamed of such a product.

The plastic brake fluid reservoir was split along the fused seam and I didn't find the problem until the old one was torn out. I had fluid running down my hand as I tried to bench bleed the new one. I returned it... but the replacement had the same split seam. Fortunately I checked that one before leaving the store. I ended up reusing the old reservoir and installing a rebuilt MC, the only other unit the store had available. I'd guess the MC itself was OK and probably could have reused the reservoir from the old one with this unit but I wasn't about to find out, and I paid for a complete functioning MC. The gentleman at AA was very helpful and apologetic and he provided a discount for my troubles.
