The starting system consists of the rotating electrical motor and solenoid which may be mounted on the starter motor or mounted remotely. A low amperage wire winding within the solenoid will create magnetic force when voltage is applies from a remote switch, such as the ignition switch or another type of remote mounted switch. The contacts within the relay carry a high amperage load to run an electric motor or some other type of high load circuit.
