My old 4 wheel drive began having erratic steering issues, replaced the steering dampner and cured the problem.

It was just as described. However, the instructions need to be adjusted. Says to set against tie rod. That is too far to that side by about an inch, no big deal. Just check everything twice. Comes with two (2) different sized U-bolts for different sized link rods. There were no pal-nuts as said in the directions, I double nutted the U-bolts and the nuts on the ends of the stabilizer. Also came with a very large bolt and nut with no explanation.????? Took me 1-1/2 hour including sweeping the floor after (I'm 61 and a little slow). Did it on the hangar floor with a floor jack and stands. Truck only needs tires off the floor. Hardest part was the drilling for a mount bolt. I've never had a vehicle with a Stabilizer before and I am trying to make this truck drive and handle like a nice car for when my wife drives it. The stabilizer makes the road buzz go away and you feel very little rough-road feedback. I would do it again. I ordered on-line, the price was right and Advance seems to always have a discount. YMMV. Enjoy.

The KYB steering stabilizer was a perfect fit for my 2006 Wrangler Unlimited, just as advertised. Installation was very easy - had it on and went for a test drive in less than an hour. The OEM unit I removed still worked but was leaking fluid. This KYB stabilizer performed as well as the OEM unit. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because there was a chip through the paint where rust will start for sure.

This is a very substantial setup. The brackets are thick and heavy, made to take abuse without bending or moving. The directions seemed vague, but once I crawled under my truck, I readily figured it all out. The only difference I could find between this one and the fancier ones (almost all are made by either Monroe or Gabriel, anyway) was that this one did not come with a dust boot. I knew that, though, and ordered one with it and it was still cheaper than almost any other brand. I think anyone with any strength and a small amount of mechanical knowledge can install this. I read several arguments saying steering stabilizers hide other problems or compensate for them, but don't make any real difference. I replaced most of my suspension parts before I did this, and there was not much slop. This limited the bounce from the oversized tires and just plain made the ride a good bit smoother when it comes to bumps and potholes. I was skeptical, but this helped my 1990 Chevy K1500 with a 3" body lift. It will not fix front end problems, and shouldn't be used that way, but it will make the ride smoother and absorb some of the shock that would go throughout your steering system, thereby helping prolong the life of steering parts. A good investment in terms of money and time.

Great product, looks awesome on truck but no replacement bolts. There is no way to use the old bolts! Why would a company that charges this mush not send new bolts?
