The old, original switch was stuck in the 'on' position which caused the front axle to be engaged regardless if the transfer case was in 4x4 mode or not. Once I figured out where the switch actually was (it is on top of the transfer case), I was able to remove it and install the new one in about 5 minutes and the 4x4 engagement now works fine. I put the front wheels up on a ramp, set the parking brake and put a block behind the rear wheels to give me enough room to get under the truck. The switch was inexpensive; well worth the cost. One thing to be aware of. The top of my transfer case had a layer of dirt on it. So, before you remove the old switch, hose / brush off the top of your transfer case to remove all the crud and then dry it, otherwise you might get dirt into your transfer case. Use a 7/8" box wrench to remove the switch. The 3 vacuum lines will only go on in one position. Good videos on U-Tube to show you how to swap the switch out.

After three of these items not working properly, I purchased a GM switch and it worked perfectly. Spend the extra money and save yourself a lot of aggravation.
