The MSD Blaster Dodge Coil is designed as a replacement coil and produces a high voltage spark. To get even more ignition performance, install an MSD Ignition Control. To ease the wiring with an MSD Ignition, use the Universal Harness, PN 8873.

For points application the supplied 0.85 ohm ballast resistor must be used in conjunction with the vehicle original ballast resistor, if so equipped. Extra tall tan Alkyd tower and integral voltage dam eliminate “”flashover”” to primary terminals. Comes complete with mounting hardware and 0.85 ohm ballast resistor. Effective up to 6,500 RPM.”

The Blaster Coil is designed to mount in most factory canister coil mounts. MSD also offers a Chrome Coil Bracket, PN 8213. It is recommended to mount the PN 8202, PN 82023, and 8223 coils in an upright position. The High Vibration Coil, PN 8222, can be mounted in any position due to its epoxy potting compound.
