GM Genuine Parts Clutch Pilot Bearings are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards, and are backed by General Motors. These bearings support the end of the transmission input shaft while the clutch is disengaged. They are located in the center of the flywheel in the crankshaft flange. Flexplate GM Ls

Vehicles with automatic transmissions have a flex plate. The flex plate connects the engine and transmission. Most flex plates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. The constant expansion and contraction of a flex plate over time can result cracks and/or shearing of the flex plate. A damaged flex plate can create serious (expensive) damage. Broken flex plates can not be repaired, they must be replaced. ATP flex plates are made of high quality steel and contain the correct bolt hole spacing and ring gear teeth just like the original part to ensure long life and durability.

The importance of pressure plate bolts in a racing or Hi-Performance street application cannot be emphasized nearly enough. These fasteners play a key role in both the performance and safety of a vehicle. Because of this, ARP has developed special pressure plate bolts that are application specific to ensure the optimum grip length. ARP offers High Performance Series bolts that are made from a premium grade chrome moly and hardened to a nominal tensile strength of 180,000 PSI. The Pro Series bolts, originally developed for NASCAR competition, are stronger and rated at 200,000 PSI. Both models feature a large diameter, low profile design. Complete with washers.
