The old starter was 46 years old and sometimes you had to turn the key several times before it would engage. I could have taken the old starter apart and cleaned and lubricated it and got it working, but for the low price of a rebuilt starter I got new brushes and bearings and didn't get my hands dirty. The rebuilt starter is powerful and sounds great.

Bought a new one and started blowing fuses. Took it back and it had a delay in it causing it to blow fuses. Swapped it out with another one that was new and now it makes a really bad banging noise when trying crank. Never done that until I replaced the started. Was told by a mechanic it could need a swimming kit.

Exact fit for my 1989 Chevy Suburban 7.4L big block. Gear to flex-plate was within spec, the 2 shims included weren't necessary. The part honestly looks brand new. All new lock washers, nuts, posts, paint, solenoid housing, even the drive gear looks new. If you're doing this install by yourself grab a jack stand and a small piece of 2x4. Use that to hold the starter up, rest part of the starter against the frame, make the electrical connections. Next raise the stand a couple notches, start the bolts, tighten them up, reconnect the battery and start the engine.

Same part, replaced after 5 years. Don't know it that's good or bad. Truck is used primarily for plowing snow so gets more starts perhaps, certainly in colder weather. Replaced the starter at no cost which is a compliment to Advanced to stand behind it's warranty.

This was purchaced based on the year make and model of my vehicle being an '84 Chevy Blazer M1009. It does not hold up with the 24v system. The options do not ask for the voltage when choosing a starter.

Tapered bolt holes to keep them from falling out hitting you in the face, Difficult part was attaching the wiring with one hand holding the weight of the starter with the other, suggest chevy make a quick disconnect improvement they do have to be replaced. It's hard to recommend with only three days of use. So far so good!!

I am trying to use this product to replicate a canister vent line that I can not locate for my 84 Mustang. I wish they made a full round tube with no split in the side. It will not be functional, only a facimile of the real one.
