this part seem to be of good quality, I've used Remy parts on several vehicles and they all seem to be doing fine. On the 1992 grand prix you do need to pull the oil filter to remove the starter so just make sure you buy a new filter when you get your starter.

After driving 15 mile to pickup my internet order I did not open the box and the next day when I was going to install the starter it came up to be an old return starter, and for my bad luck went to return the part and they pull another starter that was missing the seleniod, best option always verify the inside before you leave the store

Bought for 1996 Grand Am. CPU says exact fit, and is the only starter they (Advance) carries for a 1996 Grand Am. WILL NOT FIT WITHOUT REMOVING THE ENTIRE INTAKE MANIFOLD. Reman'd added .25+ inches to the overall length making it impossible to install.

The starter is ok fit great. The only thing I had trouble with was the threads on the starter. Had to clean threads on top hole of starter. After that bolt went in fine. Works great.

I bought this starter a year ago. Six months later, it kept disengaging, so I replaced it under warranty with a second one. Now, five months later, this one is starting to do the same thing. So unless you enjoy replacing starters and wasting your time, spend a few bucks more for the good one.

I recently needed a starter on short notice. I have one car so getting parts is a task. The picture posted shows a solenoid. It SHOULD be included!! I had someone pick it up for me since I had to order it. When I discovered this, I was furious. I intend to report this as well as filing a complaint with a district manager. I wonder how many other adds are false. You have lost another customer.

Great Starter for the price... much better option than purchasing a salvage yard starter. It seems every bit as new and durable as a new one... but does Not include the solenoid. Installing it on my particular vehicle was relatively easy. From the first start onward... it cranks hard and fast. I highly recommend it... look for coupons, promotions to get it even cheaper... but be sure you have a good working solenoid before you purchase it.
