Great replacement water pump for my Chevy inline 6 in my '78 Camaro. Looks exactly like factory stock part once painted GM blue. Easy install with 4 bolts and comes with its own gasket. Just snugged down the bolts and gave them a quarter turn beyond, and there were no leaks.

I installed this product on my chevy engine to replace the one I had. Since I was working on it anyway it made sence to update and be pro-active with regards to maintence. It's always better to be safe then sorry especially when it comes to taking trips in a 40 year old car. Now I know that it won't break down because of this part. I would recommend replacing parts before they fail. A little time spent is well worth the effort in the long run. Advance auto parts always has the right parts for the right job.

Water pump is fine. The cardboard gasket is junk and I purchased a felpro gasket with a silicone bead. Also the mounting bolts are incorrect. They were 6mm by 1.0, however the threads were the full length which is not OEM. 1/8" at end of the OEM bolts are smaller diameter and therefore torque properly. The bolts supplied with this water pump would not torque properly.

94 K1500 5.7L TBI This is the Heavy-Duty Pump and a standard removal and installation. It's a good idea to change the upper and lower hoses and belt if they are old since it's apart. The thermostat and gasket are simple to change as well. Documentation does recommend replacing the fan clutch as well so that's something to consider. Once the top portion of the fan shroud is off, don't lose the two rubber insulators. Be sure to place some large cardboard pieces in front of the fan to protect the radiator from damage when removing the fan and as you work. You will need to swap the clutch fan mounting studs into the new pump on the bench. Clean the block surface well and use High Tack or an equivalent to attach gaskets (included) to the pump. You can use some Permatex on the threads and then carefully thread in the 4 bolts into the block and tighten up to hold the pump in place. Reassemble and refill coolant. The radiator will likely need to be carefully "burped" to remove air and add more coolant. Fill the overflow reservoir. Well priced and works as expected !

Seemed like a nice pump. Machined water outlet flange for a good seal at the hose. Nice gasket on the back plate. Looked identical to the original pump besides the weep hole in the bottom where the OE pump has the weep hole at the top to prevent leakage. All went well until I bolted the alternator bracket to the pump and noticed the water pump housing cracked at the bolt hole. Appeared to be very thin uneven wall around the threads (out of spec cast). These are cast iron pumps. Very thick. Torque setting was 35 foot pounds. Crack appeared before I reached 35 ft lbs torque. Thought it was maybe a scratch in the paint. At 35 ft lbs, it split, crack ran into the water jacket. Never seen a water pump crack like that before. Poor quality. No more aftermarket pumps. They need to recall these pumps for casting defect. Bolt hole was correct depth for the bolt.

Bought this pump for my 1994 Chevy Camaro with the 3.4 liter EFI engine. Site said it was exact fit and purposely looked for store that had one in stock for timely replacement (wanted to have the car for Mother's Day which is in 4 days). Got a phone call from the mechanic and it doesn't fit. The pump for my car has to be special ordered. Extremely disappointed that the website was incorrect.
